The World's TOP Six and Seven Star Hotels--See The World'd Top Places

No,1# Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi Emirates Palace Hotel - It's unclear who first called the Emirates Palace "the seven-starred jewel in Abu Dhabi's crown" but the description certainly seems to have caught on among fans of hotel purple prose. With reason: the hotel measures an entire kilometre from wing to wing, with 302 rooms, 60 suites, 128 kitchens, 102 lifts and a private floor reserved solely for leaders of the Gulf states. But that's just the big picture. The detail includes the marble..

Plus Size Dresses to Beat the Heat

Fortunately, today many department and fashion retail chains sell a wide variety of plus size clothing choices, including plus size dresses. As there's nothing better than wearing a pretty dress in the summertime, we've picked out our favorite warm weather plus size dresses for you to browse.

Elegant and flattering, maxi dresses, one of the more popular plus size dresses styles, can be found in many different colors and prints, and we like this JWLA for Johnny Was Amber Dip-Dye Maxi Dress ($215) because of its unique multicolor floral embroidery detailing. With a neckline featuring smocking and ruffles with thin spaghetti straps, this dress features smocking at the waist, and its skirt falls straight to the ankles. The embroidered flowers look so pretty against the ombre effect of the blue dip-dye knit. Made of cotton, this dress will be a staple in your summer party wardrobe.

Another flattering style for plus size dresses, wrap and faux wrap dresses like this Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Faux Wrap Dress ($78.90) work to make your waist look smaller. With soft pleating to accent curves and the lovely aster shade, this dress is a stunner. Zips up the back with an hook-and-eye closure, this dress measures 42 inches from the shoulder to the hem, making this dress hit at mid-thigh. With a fully lined bodice, the crossover look in the faux wrap is attractive on every figure.

A variety of printed sundresses, a hot trend this summer, can be found among our selection of plus size dresses, and our favorite is this Style&co. Plus Size Sleeveless Printed Beaded Dress ($50.99). Featuring a scoop neckline accented by beading, this colorful abstract printed dress is a pullover style with no closures. Sleeveless, with bra-friendly straps, this dress is tiered at the hem. Hitting below the knee, this dress measures 47 inches from the center back neckline to the hem.

If you're looking for a classic dress to wear to work this summer, we've got lots of great choices in our plus size dresses shop, like this Jones New York Plus Size Pleated Dress ($104.25). Made from an airy cotton fabric, this sleeveless, V-neck dress features pleating detailing down the front with a button closure. Tying at the waist, the skirt flows freely, giving this classic dress a touch of femininity. Hitting below the knee, this is a dress that can change its look easily with different accessories.

Kim Kardashian Wedding Dress and Date Rumors

 Kim Kardashian Wedding Dress
This week Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney were spotted out and about in New York checking out wedding dresses for Kim’s big day. They visited many shops and had lunch with designer Vera Wang. Could she be designing Kim’s dress, that is only speculation right now. Rumor has it  Kim wants 2  dresses designed by Wang that compliment her lavish 20.5 carat engagement ring.

A Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding date has not been announced as of yet. Rumors have said that the big day will take place this summer, most likely August  in Los Angeles. The couple appears to be preparing for the wedding and have already made a gift registry at Gearys in Beverly Hills. The wedding is sure to be a top notch affair with a wedding planner to the stars at the helm.

There has been lots of talk about the wedding being televised either as part of one of the current Kardashian television shows, or even as it’s own spin off. Camera crews did follow Kim Kardashian on her recent wedding dress shopping trip including her lunch with Vera Wang. I am sure we will see all of the wedding events unfold on television making us feel like we are there.

Beauty Trend: Fiery Red Hair

If you, like many of us, change your hair color as and when the mood strikes, perhaps you shoulder consider switching to red. A slew of celebrities have recently been spotted out and about with fiery red locks, suggesting it is the new hair color du jour—for instance, last night, at the Time 100 Gala in New York City, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively debuted copper-red locks. Earlier this month, Drew Barrymore showed up to a West Hollywood event with a fiery-red ‘do, while The Bang Bang Club actress Malin Akerman was spotted with new strawberry-red locks just last week. What do you think of this new bold new hair trend?

Wild Thing: Spring's New Python Pedicure

The python trend is everywhere this spring and fall. Including my feet. I’m not talking about Marc Jacobs’s chunky wooden platforms with the skinny red straps or YSL’s intensely beautiful shades-of-blue wedges—although they’re on my list. I’m talking about my toes.
Four weeks ago, I rode the elevator up to a suite in a midtown hotel, relaxed into a plush armchair, and left two hours later with subtly shimmering navy serpentine toes. They look strikingly like a clutch I own. Actually, I should wear them together.
The pedicurist—the talented Terri Silacci, in town from her salon in Monterey, California—didn’t press printed decals or paint her approximation of a python pattern onto my nails. She used actual snakeskin.
The delicate, almost transparent skin, which looks like very finely embossed parchment, was kindly donated by a four-foot-long female python who shimmied out of it one day, the natural shedding process for snakes as they grow. “Talk about renewable resources!” said Silacci as she laid small, textured pieces from the glossy, tubelike swath—meticulously hand-cut to fit the shape and size of each nail—on my toes between a thick layer of instant-drying gel base color (a deep blue called On the Dark Side) and a chip-resisting clear sealant. “Small snakes are usually my favorite. You get a lot more detail per square inch,” she mused, picking up a very fine artist’s brush, dipping it in a small pot of my accent shade (a metallic gray called Golden Silver), and tracing the ridges of the pattern to give “the outline of the snake some color.” Then she sealed me up with another coat of bulletproof clear and scooted my feet under a UV lamp for several minutes.
Silacci was using products from Bio Sculpture, a company founded in South Africa 22 years ago, for which she serves as ambassador/high priestess of the pedicure. Their formulas—which they describe as the “original no-chip” gel nail lacquers—can be applied directly to the natural nail, skipping the toxic primers and bonders that can leave nails damaged, dehydrated, and generally trashed (I speak from experience). The results dry instantly and last up to eight weeks, miraculously resisting all signs of wear-and-tear. Silacci was drawn to the company, whose polishes are distributed in 32 countries and used in many Aveda salons, four years ago by its refreshing safety profile, a rare find in the nail world: “At the time I was breast-feeding my child, and I didn’t want to breathe harsh chemicals,” she says. After attending Bio Sculpture “boot camp” in L.A., she came home a convert. The gels come in 170 shades (their first color, Pillar Box, a classic red, is still the company best seller), and the stiffness of the finish is customizable. There’s the Flexigel option for dancers and runners, explains Silacci, and S-Gel for those who want extra strength.
Though spring’s most stylish pedicure appears to be sent from fashion heaven, plucked straight off the runways, it was not Alber Elbaz of Lanvin (those python-printed dresses!) or Nicolas Ghesquière of Balenciaga (those must-have totes!) from whom Silacci sought her inspiration. She got the idea from her kids, ages four and six. “What happened was my daughter and son went over to our neighbor, who runs a reptile shop in Salinas. He gave them natural sheds [from snakes], and you know how children are: They’re fascinated with something for a minute, and then they toss it. As a mom, you either put it away or make use of it.” She took it to work.
These days, Silacci is running a full-time python-pedi enterprise at the Euphoria Lounge in Monterey. Thanks to her faithful neighbor, she is well supplied with “enough snakeskin to cover the entire city.” She’s been experimenting with gold and silver leaf, too—embellishing her snakeskin toes even further for a lacquered, cloisonné effect—as well as peacock plumes and speckled guinea feathers. For the many nail artists she has begun to train around the country in the art of the snake, she’s also devised a synthetic, embossed version of her python pattern because, she admits, “it’s just not practical for a manicurist to go out looking for snakeskin.”

The First Complete 3D Holographic Fashion Show In the World

In a world first, designer Tim Jockel has created a fashion show for German haute couture fashion label Stefan Eckert completely through three-dimensional hologram technology.
Working alongside director Florian Sigl, Jockel captured the content using a high-speed camera, creating the 3D motion graphics and compiling it all in post-production.  Hoping to ‘communicate the philosophy behind the new collection’ in a better way, the Berlin-based designer has not only created the first complete 3D fashion show, but also ‘one of the biggest holographic projections ever.’
